hello!
I'm Louise.
I started this website in 2021, and over the last five years, it's taken on many forms. It started as a singer/songwriter site, and evolved in 2023 to mainly function as a blog oriented around women in music. In 2026, now that I live in Nashville, I wear both hats but commit to my blog in much bigger ways.
I started my blog because I noticed a very strange imbalance in the music industry. Women seem to be running pop music, but the inner workings of the industry value men more highly. This is evident from statistics on the Billboard charts, Grammy nominations, and personal experiences I’ve discussed with artists. Men have power, but women have relevance. On the flip side, men find the most success in country music, but women put the most effort into their artistry in the genre. I find this fascinating and enjoy shedding light on women who catch my eyes and ears. I've had some of the most empowering conversations of my life while working on this blog and have made it my main function in the music industry.
My favorite artists are Taylor Swift, Maisie Peters and Gracie Abrams. They all exemplify everything I've looked up to for years, but Swift's influence on me and the music industry can't go without saying. She does it like no other. She doesn't restrict herself to just one thing, and while this primarily applies to genres for her, I believe that a good work ethic can allow you to apply this in almost any way you want. I may primarily run a blog, but I also write songs with Nashville artists, work with Belmont Service Corps (volunteering at music industry events and putting up posters for various occasions around the city), and even, to throw you a curveball, run a Depop clothing resell business that I try to keep as ethical as possible.
Thank you for exploring my website beyond the blog! I'm excited to further develop my operations here over the next few years, and I hope you enjoy my work!
