Music Recommendations Based on Taylor Swift by Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift has been a successful female role model for young women including myself for two decades now. She’s built arguably the biggest fanbase in the world, provided soundtracks to almost every experience, and is probably your favorite artist’s favorite artist. At twelve years old and six years deep into my obsession with Swift’s music, I was often asked what other music I listened to. The answer slowly became more elaborate, and now that I’m nineteen, I can’t imagine what my taste would be like if I’d never branched out. Here are my recommendations, based on Swift’s debut album, for those trying to further expand their taste. Whether you only listen to Swift or share a wide variety of favorite artists like me, you can hopefully find something new you like. From the classics to modern favorites to deeper cuts.

Swift’s self-titled debut album Taylor Swift (2006) specializes in soft, youthful twang. It contains good stories, some angst, and a reminder that the younger you are, the more intricate every emotion feels.
